Adaptive trust in the quantum era

Security is a property of an operating system of decisions: algorithms, software, keys, people and recovery. Quantum-era trust must address the whole system.

How can a system adapt to changing threats while keeping its authorizations and evidence understandable?

The research thesis

My research explores the combination of post-quantum cryptography, independent control and evidence about implementation behavior. An important theme is correlated failure: multiple components can share dependencies and therefore fail together.

Biological systems provide an organizing analogy for adaptation and diversity. The engineering translation is concrete: reduce shared failure modes, observe the environment and govern changes through explicit conditions. Diversity alone is not a security proof.

A scoped evaluation

For a selected integration, compare post-quantum implementations, interoperability and behavior on invalid or altered inputs. Document shared dependencies, change-control conditions and recovery assumptions.

The useful outcome is evidence about one defined system, under one stated threat model. Current work is presented through public research perspectives and the Quantum Assurance pilot program.

What a partner would receive

An implementation assessment or architecture review with a defined perimeter, reproducible checks and an agreed report. Longer-lived scientific archives and sensitive research workflows are relevant starting points.

Scientific connection

Post-quantum cryptography operates on conventional computers and is distinct from quantum computation. The connection between these fields is the changing threat environment and the need for dependable scientific infrastructure.
